Long time, No Post

Haven’t posted here in a while. I have been doing other things.

Just got back from a great time at the bach fishing, seeing friends, playing forceback ect ect.

I have also found that the developers who want to develop the historic site I have been trying to save have applied for resource consent so I have been working to oppose that proposal.

I will try to post more reguarly this term.

  1. Hi SummerSailor

Good to read you are still alive out there. Keep up the blogging – it is good to hear about the things you are doing. I thought of you this morning when I was out driving. Twice actually! So I thought I better say hello. Firstly, we came across a paddock of sheep and the poor farmer was trying to help them as it was pouring with rain. “Hmmm,” I thought to myself, “I wonder how SummerSailor’s farming is going?” I just imagined you out in the paddock, wet through, looking after your flock. And secondly, just 5 minutes later, I drove past a group of people playing hockey. “Hmmm,” I thought to myself again, “I wonder if SummerSailor is playing hockey again.” I imagined you again, wet through, swerving in and out of all the opposition defenders, scoring the winning goal!!

I am really enjoying the Ashes series at the moment. In some ways it’s a bit bad because I tend to stay up late and watch it on TV – Mrs H is not impressed! What a great start – I am so keen for England to win the series. I wonder what you think of the All Blacks season so far? Good to see a number of young players coming through. It all looks good for 2011.

    Good to hear from you.

    • Hi Mr H,

Thanks for your comment. Yes it would be great if England could win the Ashes. I think Australian cricket is heading downhill now that people like Gilchrist and McGrath are gone.

The All Blacks just need to build on their younger players experience and as they gain confidence they will improve. I think that it has been good for Stephen Donald to get some tests under his belt as it gives us a reliable back up to Dan Carter. What do you think?

I’m not playing hockey this season due to scheduling difficulties at the start of the season but I am helping to coach S and E’s team with Dad and another assistant coach. We had our best result of the season today 4-0!!!

I am still helping at the farm. The lambs are starting to arrive and everything is very, very wet and muddy as is the case with our backyard after all the winter soccer and rugby games!

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and for your comments. It is very encouraging.

      Summer Sailor
